Student Resources from IEEE PES: More than Scholarships & Career Experiences
The Power & Energy Society (PES) supports students at all stages of their education. Student poster contests, career fairs, and travel assistance are some of the ways PES encourages students to be involved in power and energy engineering. Look for our events at these conferences:
- IEEE PES General Meeting - conducted annually in July
- IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference and Exposition - conducted every two years
- North American Power Symposium

Act Locally with PES Student Branch Chapters
A great way to get involved with IEEE is through an IEEE student branch. These branches connect you with other engineering students at your university. Depending on your university, your IEEE student branch chapter may organize speakers, field trips, fundraisers, and social and networking events that are of general interest to all electrical engineers.
Some universities even have their own PES student branch chapter. These chapters are focused on electric power and energy and are a separate, but related, group from the IEEE student branch.
