Who am I?
- PES Scholar - 2015 - John W. Estey Outstanding Scholar - Region 2
- Electrical Engineering - 2016
- University of Delaware
- Communications, signal processing, power and renewable energy
Why did you choose to study engineering and the power engineering field?
I always enjoyed a challenge and felt engaged in science and math disciplines throughout school. I did a project on Wind Turbines in high school and was drawn to renewable energy all my life. In college, I tried to focus on sustainability and power engineering with a renewable energy emphasis.
What do you love about the power engineering field? What excites you about being involved in the PE field?
I am very passionate about renewable energy and energy efficiency. I am excited about applications of communications protocols to power engineering to reinvent the grid. Any type of smart grid application makes me excited.
How has been selected as a PES Scholar impacted you?
Being selected as a PES Scholar has motivated me to pursue my passions in this field. I am hoping to get a communications background and carry that focus into the power engineering applications. I want to make an impact in this industry and being a PES Scholar has given me the confidence to pursue that goal.
