Who am I?
PES Scholar - 2015
Boston University - Electrical Engineering Major, graduating in 2017
Interested in energy engineering, materials science, and environmental protection: photovoltaic cells, power electronics, renewable energy, etc. I am also interested in art, literature, ice skating and astronomy.
Why did you choose to study engineering and the power engineering field?
Personally, I chose engineering because I wanted to be challenged to solve problems and make an impact in the world. I chose the power engineering field specifically because I see a lot of room to grow and change within it.
What do you love about the power engineering field? What excites you about being involved in the PE field?
I find it exciting to be at the forefront of the dynamic PE field as it accommodates to the changes taking place in the world such as the increasing energy demand, changing climate, renewable energy technologies, and many others in the years to come. I hope to be able to create an increased amount of environmental awareness within the power industry.
How has been selected as a PES Scholar impacted you?
Being selected as a PES scholar has been a great experience. I've been able to network with some great people from the power industry and I hope to attend some PES events in the near future. The scholarship has provided a pathway for me to attain a summer internship. The PES mentor program is also a great additional benefit to the scholarship.
