Forest Atchison  - University of North Carolina - Charlotte (Region 3 - Southeastern USA)

Forest is a first time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power Systems.   He has recently returned to school & is working part time at an electrical manufacturing company which provides building control systems integrated with unitized switchgear into a single package.  Additionally, he is serving as an undergraduate research assistant in the Power Delivery Innovation Group.

 

Nathan Carnovale - University of Pittsburgh (Region 2 - Mid-Atlantic USA)

Nate is a three time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in January 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering with a concentration in Electric Power.  He has career experiences at Eaton Corporation in their Power Systems Experience Center (PSEC), Power Systems Automation group and Power Systems Controls group.

Jacob Collins - University of Utah (Region 6 - Western USA)

Jacob is a first time PES Scholarship recipient and US Navy veteran who is expected to graduate in May 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power Engineering.   While on active duty in the Navy Jacob operated nuclear reactors for the Navy and taught nuclear power plant operation at Nuclear Power Training Unit in Charleston.  He also has experience working at Rocky Mountain Power as a student engineer.

 

Quyen Hoang - University of Missouri – Kansas City (Region 5 - Mid-West USA)

Quyen is a first time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering.   She has had a career experience at Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City 

 

Ziyi Ma - University of Toronto (Region 7 - Canada)

Ziyi is a first time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Energy & Control Systems. She has had four internships which accumulate to 2 years of working experience in the Energy Industry. Throughout her internships, she designed an equipment diagnostic system for 100 electrical houses, designed a new telecom panel for a pump station in Missouri and conducted over 50 business related presentations.

 

Max Milone - Stevens Institute of Technology (Region 1 - Northeastern USA)

Max is a first time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May 2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering with a concentration in Power Engineering.  He has had a career experience at New Era Converting Machinery, where he was a controls engineer.

Matt Stoel  - South Dakota State University (Region 4 - Central USA)

Matt is a two time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May  2021 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering with a concentration in Power Systems.  He has career experience as a Substation Engineering Internship with Ulteig Engineers.  He has also been involved in the IEEE SDSU Student Branch and was named a 2018/19 PES Schweitzer Meritorious Scholar.
