Megan Culler - Texas A&M University (Region 5)

Megan is a two-time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power engineering.  She has had career experience working at Sandia National Laboratories and ExxonMobil in the refinery Electrical Section.    She held volunteer positions in the IEEE Student Branch Chapter at Texas A&M University and the IEEE Eta Kappa Nu Gamma Mu Chapter.

John Garrett - Clarkson University (Region 1)

John is a first time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in December 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Electrical Power Engineering.   He has had career experiences at General Electric Solar, the Tesla Gigafactory 1 and Intel as a facilities electrical engineering intern.   He is the chair of the IEEE Student Branch Chapter at Clarkson University.

Courtney Harnum - Memorial University (Region 7)

Courtney is a three time PES Scholarship recipient who will be graduating in May 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power systems.  She had career experiences at Newfoundland Power, FortisBC, and The Cahill Group, where she worked on the construction of the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric plant.  She is co-chair of the IEEE Student Branch Chapter at Memorial University.

Bruce Hicks - Mississippi State University (Region 3)

Bruce is a first time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He has been involved with the CURENT(Center for Ultra-wide-area Resilient Electric Energy Transmission Neworks) REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) Program.   This program allows undergraduate students to gain experience by participating in academic research ongoing in the realm of power at UTK, to gather perspective of available careers in the power industry, and to increase understanding of the demands and rewards of a graduate level education in power-focused electrical engineering.


Brian Malone- Cleveland State University (Region 2)

Brian is a three time PES Scholarship recipient who will be graduating in May 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.  He is a US Coast Guard veteran who has had career experiences at FirstEnergy Corporation in Akron, Ohio.  He  helped coordinate IEEE Cleveland State Student Branch VEX Robotics Competition for high school students.


Grant Metzger - South Dakota State University (Region 4)

Grant is a three time PES Scholarship recipient who will be graduating in May 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with an interest in renewable energy.  He has had career experiences at DGR engineering and Burns & McDonnell.   He has held volunteer positions in the IEEE Student Branch Chapter at South Dakota State University and the IEEE Eta Kappa Nu Gamma Rho Chapter.


Kaleb Spencer - Washington State University (Region 6)

Kaleb is a first time PES Scholarship recipient who is expected to graduate in May 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and minor in mathematics.  He graduated from Centralia Community College with honors and has had an internship at Lewis County PUD and Brown & Kysar, Inc.  He is the Vice Chair at the IEEE Student Branch Chapter at Washington State University.
